About Your Creative Writing Tutor, Sharon Colback

The online creative writing course has been designed and is led by Sharon Colback, B.A.. She studied English literature, French and Latin at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a member of the National Association for Writers in Education (NAWE).

Sharon is a writer with a long track record. She has worked as an editor and as a journalist internationally and in the UK, where, amongst many other renowned publications, she wrote regularly for The Sunday Times Magazine, The Daily Mail, The Financial Times Group and Virgin Money. She has led writing workshops within companies such as Zurich Life, the major insurance group, where she taught staff how to write for in-house newsletters and for brochures and marketing.

As a creative writing teacher she has taught many private groups at her farmhouse in South West  France. She was invited to teach in  Northern Ireland, Italy and South Africa, at the University of Cape Town Summer School.

Sharon has broadcast frequently on the radio in the UK and South Africa. She was awarded the Evelyn Wrench Cultural Scholarship by the English Speaking Union of the U.S. where she lectured on the lives and cuisine of the Great Mughal Emperors of India.
